Hello Ladies and Handsome Mans!!!
Welcome to Nicole's Blog!
This is what I will be using/updating to keep y'all back on the home front posted about my adventures in the enticingly exotic Thailand.
For those of you who don't know, I will be a Rotary exchange student for 10 months.
I will live with several families all based in the northwesternly part of Thailand.
This is what you call a "gap year", an extra year in-between high school and college to shake off all of those "I'm FREE NOW!!!!" willies. Then when you return to school (supposedly) you are more focused and ready to learn.... and not so easily distracted by keg parties and the novelty of eating cream puff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It is 12:35 AM on the morning that I am supposed to leave, I just thought it would be good to get this thing started before I get on some plane and cross all kinds of time zones.
My friend Will pointed out that this is the closest thing we mere humans can get to time travel. I daresay he is right. It's an amusing thought, thinking about the idea of time too long and hard will really mess with your head sometimes. The only thing we have to go on in terms of measuring it is our little blue globe turning around and around and around...
Sorry, you will have to excuse my pros now and in the next couple weeks as I am exhausted and will be jet lagged for who knows how long.
Mom and I have managed to cram everything I wish to take into one (huge) suitcase and a backpack. Well everything except the travel guitar and my purse.
This is quite the accomplishment, and as always it wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable Cynthia Nicholson. (She's an old hand at this sort of thing)
Well I should be off to bed... though its hardly worth it considering my alarm is set to go off in about 2 hours.
Love to you all!!
